| Obituary | May 11, 2006 | OBITUARY: EURE - Margaret Baines Rountree, 70, of the 100 block of Taylor Mill Road, died May 9, 2006, in Nash General Hospital, Rocky Mount, N.C. Mrs. Rountree was born in Suffolk and was the daughter of the late Sidney C. and Percie Lou Poland Baines. A homemaker, she was a member of Cool Spring Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Byrum Rountree Sr; a son, David Jordan; and a grandson, Robert Timothy Horton. Surviving are three daughters, Margie Horton, Helen Jones and Norma Stallings, all of Eure; a son, Michael Henderson of Ahoskie; two sisters, Annie Harrison of South Carolina and Mary Frances Bradley of Jacksonville, Fla; eight grandchildren, Billy and Joni Horton, Amanda and Marshall Henderson, Steven Jones and Ariel, India and Asia Powell; and a great-granddaughter, Summer Sky Horton. A funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, by the Rev. Roger Kiker. Burial will follow in the Damascus Christian Church Cemetery.
