Martha A. was Electa's daughter from an earlier marriage and was apparently adopted by George John Wixon.
She is referred to as "Mrs. Martha Allen," in Electa's and Horace Mansur's will s (the latter referring to her as Horace's step-daughter), but she had died before Horace's will finished probate (as noted in the 1902 probate records for Horace Mansur). She was listed as being 55 years of age in Horace's will. Probate proceedings for her, dated October 8, 1902, indicated that she died intestate on the 4th day of November A. D. 1901.
Her son Charles Hiram Allen (36) was the administrator of the estate. He and his brothers Henry Howard (30 ), Thomas M. (26) and Harold Cramer Allen (20) inherited two-thirds of the estate and their father, her husband Charles Roger Allen (70) one-third. She and Charles had been married at the Franklin House in Placer Co., CA, in 1864.
The probate records included Martha's distribution from her step-father Horace Mansur's estate and noted that the same could not be done for her younger brother Almon Wixon. The probate records are in the Placer County Archives, Auburn, CA. -- DVM, June 2002.4
