Obituary | Feb 28, 1932 | OBITUARY: Dr. Francis Sanborn Bascom, medical director of St. Mark's hospital and a practitioner in Utah for nearly 50 years, died suddenly of a heart attack at Carmel Highlands, Calif., early Saturday (February 27, 1932) morning, according to word received by friends here. Dr. Bascom had been in California for a month on vacation and had not been ill. His wife, Mrs. Mary Senter Bascom, and his son, Dr. Francis Senter Bascom, were at the bedside. A stepson, Senter Walker, of Salt Lake, also survives. A lifelong member of the Presbyterian church and one of the first physicians to attend patients at St. Mark's hospital, Dr. Bascom had always been identified with religious, medical and community undertakings in the community. No funeral plans have been made, although it is thought likely that the body will be brought to Salt Lake for burial. Publisher in the Salt Lake Tribune, Saturday, February 27, 1932.4 |
