Since there is no mention of Mary Valentine after the 1891 Census, I wonder if she is really Alice Smith Valentine who was born on Nov. 17, 1886. Alice was born at 18 Seagate, Arbroath. Her parents were William Valentine (sailmaker) and Alice Brown Robertson, who were married on July 20, 1885. The signature of qualified informer was William Valentine (father).

I can find no marriage or death record for Alice Valentine in Scotland.¹
