| Obituary | Jun 22, 2011 | OBITUARY: ALLING, Margery Spencer Margery Spencer Alling, 93, of Land O'Lakes, Florida, formerly of West Haven and Milford, wife of the late Harold Alling, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister and aunt, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at a hospice facility in Dade City, Florida. Born in Herkimer, New York, August 1, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Elva Hartom Spencer. Before retirement, Margery worked for many years as a member of the dietary staff at what is now, the Seacrest Retirement Home on Ocean Avenue in West Haven. Margery had always been a dedicated and active member of the First Baptist Church, Center Street, West Haven, and an avid reader, sewer, and quilter. Her busy hands have made wonderful treasures for her many beloved grandchildren. Margery is survived by five children, Barbara (Vincent) Kosobiecki of West Haven, Doreen Urban and Harold Alling, both of Land O'Lakes, FL, Andrew Alling of South Carolina, and Craig (Laureen) Alling of West Haven. Also surviving are her dearly cherished 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 4 great, great, grandchildren as well as her sister Vivian Davis of Herkimer, NY. Besides her husband Harold, Margery was predeceased by a daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Michael Anderson, her son-in-law Joseph Urban, a brother Ernest Spencer, and a sister Wauletta Mae Bennett. The funeral will be held at the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven, Saturday at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Friday from 4 to 8 PM.
