ObituaryMay 19, 2010  OBITUARY: Mrs. Opal Evelyn Pippinger was born on Thursday, October 2, 1924, daughter of the late Walter and Mattie Steven Dobbins. She died on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 85 years 7 months and 16 days.

Mrs. Pippinger was born in Vernon, Ala., and had lived in the Trumann area her lifetime.

She was a retired pant inspector for Salant/Salant, and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Trumann.

Mrs. Pippinger was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Marvin Lee Pippinger, one son, Donald Ray "Don" Pippinger, one grandson, Richard Lee "Richie" Pippinger, two brothers, one sister and her parents, Walter and Mattie Stevens Dobbins.

Survivors include one son, Jerry Pippinger and wife Myra of Star City, Ark; three daughters, Connie Anderson and husband Gerald of Caraway, Patsy Vickers and husband Joe and Darlene McKinney and husband Freddie all of Trumann; one brother, LeRoy Dobbins of Trumann; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Eastside Baptist Church in Trumann with Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan officiating. Burial was in Jonesboro Memorial Park in Jonesboro, AR.

Active pallbearers were; Jeremy Pippinger, Robert Pippinger, Doty Reed, Chris Hancock, Mike Lane, Nathaniel Clark, and Mason Reed.
