Researcher's Note* Joy Dobbin's father is unknown. She was raised by Lillie and Luther Dobbins as their daughter. When Mildred Dobbins married John Ormond Valentine, Mildred's parents would not allow Mildred and John to raise Joy as their own daughter.1
