Obituary | OBITUARY: November 21, 1902 - Charles William Huntoon died quite suddenly Friday night of neuralgia of the heart. He had been in ill health for two or three weeks, but was able to be out until the day of his death. Mr. Huntoon was a native of Littleton, but has lived in Lisbon since young manhood. He married Miss Ada McKown of Lisbon, who survives him, together with four children; three daughters and one son, all of whom are pupils at the public schools. He was a carpenter by trade, and was considered an expert workman. He has been employed by Morgan in building the hotel and the Syndicate Block, but was obliged to give up work about three weeks ago on account of ill health. Mr. Huntoon was a well known figure on the streets where his quickness of wit was proverbial. His age was 46 years. He belonged to none of the secret organizations in town, but was a fireman and foreman of the hose company. The funeral services were held at his late home on Water Street Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. W. C. Bartlett conducted the service. The firemen turned out in a body to accompany the remains of their comrade to the cemetery (Grove Hill). This newspaper obituary was found in an old scrap book that once belonged to Bea Clark. Information was provided from an unknown source.5 |
